Courtney Hope, who portrays Sally on The Young and the Restless, shared an emotional tribute on Instagram as she said goodbye to her cherished pup, Miss Stevie Nicks Hope. The actress’s heartfelt words struck a chord with fans, offering a glimpse into a bond that was more than just between a pet and owner—it was a profound connection that shaped her life.

Across Rainbow Bridge

Miss Stevie Nicks, affectionately called Steven McQueen, bug, and bubba, wasn’t just a dog to Hope. She was the soul pup who awakened a nurturing instinct within the actress and became her best friend and unwavering shadow. “If you knew me, you knew her,” Hope wrote. Stevie brought vibrancy to Hope’s life, helping her through its toughest moments and filling each day with joy and companionship.

In her deeply moving message, Hope recalled how, in her final moments, Stevie found the strength to stand and look each family member in the eye, as if to offer thanks and reassurance, before resting her head on Hope’s chest and taking her last breath. It was a gesture that spoke to Stevie’s boundless love and fierce spirit, qualities that Hope says were a privilege to witness.

Through her grief, the actress shared the invaluable lessons Stevie taught her: the balance of grit, strength, and boundaries with gentleness, unconditional love, and humble confidence. “I was given the honor of taking care of her in this life,” she reflected. “Sometimes taking care of something means letting it go to spread its wings and fly onto the next adventure.”

With a mix of heartbreak and gratitude, Hope promised Stevie she would be okay. She sees this as “just goodbye for now,” until their paths cross again. Stevie’s life was one of love, resilience, and deep connection, and Hope’s touching tribute serves as a reminder of the powerful bonds we share with our pets.

Her co-stars chimed in with their condolences. “Ahhh. I know how much you loved Stevie,” wrote Jason Thompson (Billy).

“I’m so sorry, Courtney. It’s just the worst. But what a lucky pup to have you as their person ❤️” wrote Susan Walters (Diane).

Others from the soap world like Karla Mosley (Dani, Beyond The Gates), BTG’s Michele Val Jean, and soap alum Kristen Alderson also expressed words of sorrow for Hope as she navigates this hard moment.

Stevie Nicks Hope, born February 14, 2009, crossed the rainbow bridge on May 24, 2025, leaving a legacy of unconditional love and unforgettable memories. Soap Hub sends its deepest condolences to the actress during this incredibly difficult time.
