Former Coronation Street star Sue Cleaver has issued a health update after leaving the long-running ITV soap. The 61-year-old played Eileen Grimshaw on the cobbles for a huge 25 years, before recent scenes that saw the stubborn mum-of-two jet off to Thailand to be with son Jason.
Sue, who has also joined the Loose Women panel in recent years, explained she wanted to try something different. She told the Mirror: “The door is still firmly open but as I reached my 60th year, I decided it was time to embrace change, look for new adventures and live fearlessly.”
Her next role will see her join the cast of Snake in the Grass at the Theatr Clwyd and Octagon Theatre Bolton. She is expected to star in the play this autumn.

“But since using my @dexcomuk CGM, that noise has quietened down. The automatic glucose readings help me see the impact of food and drink, exercise and other activities I love, which takes a weight off my mind and helps me enjoy life beyond diabetes. The star was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes 29 years ago, and stresses that “diabetes lives with her, she doesn’t live with it”.
