Spoilers are ahead as Friday’s episode (June 13) episode released a day early on the BBC iPlayer and confirmed whether the beloved couple decided to get married
Viewers have spent this week seeing Alfie and Kat enduring a number of challenges as they attempted to walk down the aisle for the third time.

Meeting in 2002, the pair have had to deal with cheating, health battles and secret babies as they tried to find their happy ending for over two decades.
On the day of their wedding, Kat decided that she wanted to call off the ceremony as she was frustrated with how Alfie handled talking to their son Tommy about the adult content they found on the family laptop.
If that wasn’t bad enough, the limo from their new business that was meant to take them to their wedding venue was stolen.

The replacement bus they brought in then broke down, with Kat furious at Alfie’s failure to find a solution.

Despite Jean Slater being upset at Kat for working with her ex Harvey Monroe after he cheated, she told her that Alfie was always going to make her happy in the end.
Another unlikely source of inspiration was Phil Mitchell, Kat’s ex-husband, who encouraged Alfie not to let her go.
Pulling themselves together, Kat and Alfie tied the knot on top of the bus’ top deck, with Mo Harris serving as their celebrant.
The closing scenes, which marked the final moments of Executive Producer Chris Clenshaw’s tenure, saw the couple staring up into the starry sky in a rare happy moment in Walford.
Once the credits began to role, viewers rushed to X, previously known as Twitter, to express their shock that Kat is already listed as ‘Kat Moon’.
Sharing a screenshot of the credits, @AceTrainerMelx said: “And the world rejoiced! #EastEnders.” @woahmitchell added: “MR AND MRS MOON. Jessie and Shane have always had such a fantastic chemistry, it’s what makes Kat and Alfie such a loved couple AND for over 20 years, icons. #EastEnders.”
@EE_Kalfie wrote: “Can’t quite believe we have Mrs Kat Moon again.” @DirtyOlScrubber posted: “We are living through the Kat Slater renaissance right now.”
@DannyGr64244602 commented: “Kat & Alfie past, present and the future of #EastEnders I think I’m going to love the new era.” @itsamy_xo noted: “okay, now i really am confused.. i thought the wedding was fake, so why is Kat’s name Moon instead of Slater in the credits.”
