Chicago Fire season 14 will not see 1 son of Benny Severide return

Chicago Fire season 14 will be one of Benny Severide’s sons no longer involved.

There’s another change coming to the world of Chicago Fire, as another cast member exits. This time, it’s one of Benny Severide’s sons.

Chicago Fire season 14 is already going to be down two members of Firehouse 51. Just ahead of the season 13 finale, we learned that Daniel Kyri and Jack Lockett wouldn’t return to the series. Now there’s another cast member out, but this may be linked more to scheduling conflicts rather than “creative” decisions.

Chicago Fire Season 11 Bringing Back Matt Casey Following Severide Exit

Jack Damon won’t return in Chicago Fire season 14

Don’t worry Severide fans; it’s not Kelly that you need to worry about. Instead, it’s Jack Damon, his half-brother, who was introduced in Chicago Fire season 12. Michael Bradway has just recently been announced as joining the cast of Every Summer After for Prime Video, an adaptation of the Carley Fortune novel.

Production for Every Summer After has just started, and that means there will be clashes with the Chicago Fire production, according to TVLine. It does look like this is the reason for the decision for Bradway to not be included, as the Chicago Fire producers would like to see Jack Damon back if there is room in his schedule.

As usual, we’re likely to see a one-liner about where Damon is, and this will presumableybe delivered by Novak. After all, Damon and Novak were starting to hook up, with the potential of them getting into a committed relationship. Now that is going to be impossible, and it would make sense for her to mention something to Violet.

In fact, the two women can lament over both of them being single again. Violet is also losing her beau, Sam Carver, with Lockett’s exit.

Firehouse 51 is still getting a new firefighter in Chicago Fire

It’s not all been exits recently. On Call’s Brandon Larracuente was recently announced as joining the series. He is set to be a firefighter and a series regular, but details of his character are secret as of right now.

The firehouse is at risk of losing some of their own, as we learned in Chicago Fire season 13 that cuts are coming. However, for Damon’s exit, the storyline is pretty simple. During season 13, he suffered some serious injuries after a call gone wrong. He had been worried that those injuries would leave him being forced into retirement, and this need for Bradway to exit could lead to that storyline being developed. Hopefully, it will help to keep the likes of Herrmann or Mouch off the chopping block.
