Next week on Home and Away, viewers in the UK are in for an emotional rollercoaster as Eden’s attempt to reconcile with her estranged father, Jimmy, ends in disappointment — and the heartbreak leaves her reeling just weeks before her wedding to Cash.
Eden has spent most of her adult life keeping her father at arm’s length. After Jimmy cheated on her mother, Deb, and left the family home during Eden’s teenage years, she cut him off entirely. While her siblings Levi and Abigail continued to maintain a relationship with him, Eden never forgave him — and had no interest in pretending otherwise. So when Jimmy paid a visit to Levi last year in Summer Bay, unaware that Eden was living there too, things quickly turned frosty.
Now, as Eden plans her future with Cash, the idea of family unity begins to weigh on her. When she tells Abigail she’s looking forward to having the whole family together for the wedding, Abby calls her bluff. If she really means it, she’d have to include Jimmy. Reluctantly, Eden agrees to extend the olive branch, especially after a visit with Deb reveals even she has made peace with her ex-husband.
But things don’t go smoothly. Levi is immediately skeptical, warning Eden that unresolved tension could ruin the wedding day. Eden, determined to do the right thing, decides to test the waters before making any final decisions. She calls Jimmy — and in a moment of panic, invites him to Summer Bay the very next day.
Flustered, Eden rushes to Cash’s house, unsure if she’s made a huge mistake. Cash reassures her he’ll be there if she needs him. The next morning, Eden organizes a casual backyard barbecue, inviting Levi, Abigail, and their partners Mac and Molly — with Jimmy as the unexpected guest of honor.
Jimmy arrives smiling and enthusiastic, but Eden greets him with thinly veiled coldness. As the rest of the family arrive and conversation flows, Eden finds herself overwhelmed, especially when Jimmy praises her and Cash’s upcoming marriage. She escapes to Remy’s room, venting to Cash that Jimmy has no right to talk about commitment. Cash gently reminds her that if she truly wants reconciliation, she’ll have to let go of her anger — at least a little.
Returning to the party, Eden sees Jimmy enjoying himself, laughing and telling old stories. But when he starts reminiscing about Eden’s childhood, she stiffens, clearly uncomfortable. After Molly departs, Jimmy reveals that it was Molly who helped him reconnect with Deb, setting off the chain of events that brought him here.
It’s all too much. Eden retreats once again to Cash’s place and breaks down. She tells Cash that she tried — but she can’t do it. Jimmy can’t be part of their wedding. She asks him to send her father away.
Cash complies, but Jimmy refuses to leave quietly. He confronts Eden directly, asking why she even invited him in the first place. She tells him the truth: she wanted to see if there was a way forward, but now she knows there isn’t. But Jimmy won’t accept that. “If things are broken,” he says, “then it’s about time we fix them — whether you’re ready or not.”
Is this the end of Eden and Jimmy’s reunion — or just the beginning of a difficult path to healing? Only time will tell.
