Home and Away legend to visit Cork as part of farewell tour

Lynne McGranger accepts Gold Logie Award for Most Popular Personality on Australian Television during the 65th TV WEEK Logie Awards ceremony at The Star on August 03, 2025 in Sydney, Australia.

Actress Lynne McGranger will spend a night on Leeside as part of her ‘Farewell to Irene’ tour – and tickets are limited.

Best known for her role as Irene Roberts on the popular Australian soap Home and Away, Lynn played the iconic character for 33 years and holds the title of longest-serving female cast member of a television soap opera in Australia.

Earlier this year, the 72-year-old made the difficult decision to step away from the role after three decades to pursue her passion for theatre and spend more time with her friends and family.

Now, she’s embarking on a tour to give the character of Irene a proper send-off, and she will stop by The Address Hotel in Cork City for a special evening with her fans on Sunday, November 2, at 6 pm.

Lynn will be doing a live Q&A on the evening, where she will share her favourite storylines from Home and Away and plenty of other stories, alongside meet-and-greets with her fans. There will also be exclusive signed merchandise available for grabs.

You can check out the remaining tickets by clicking here. Prices start at €21 for standard seats, which include access to the Q&A session and the chance to take a photo with the actress afterwards.

Lynn isn’t the only celebrity to visit Cork this year; Hollywood legend Bill Murray was spotted in Kinsale and Cobh last weekend, and even shared a heartfelt message of support for the Irish Sepsis Foundation in a video taken by founder Doireann O’Mahony.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine star Jo Lo Truglio was spotted ‘on the beat’ shopping in the English Market during the summer, as he took a holiday to the Rebel County with his family to explore his ancestral roots.

Jamie Dornan of Fifty Shades of Grey fame stopped by West Cork over Easter with his musician wife Amelia Warner. The pair travelled through the countryside, and the Golden Globe-nominated actor even took a brave leap into the chilly Atlantic.

And of course, Cillian Murphy spent a few days in his hometown for the festival Sounds from a Safe Harbour, which he co-curates. The Oscar-winner premiered his new movie Steve in the Arc Cinema, gave a sold-out talk in the Opera House, and even gave his fans a big surprise when he returned to his DJ roots.
