ITV Emmerdale legend rejected from huge reality show after ‘worst audition’
A former Emmerdale star has opened up about getting rejected from a huge reality show.

Alexander Lincoln shot to fame playing Joe Tate on the ITV soap, making his debut back in 2019. As the son of icon Kim Tate (Claire King), Jamie became a firm favourite with viewers.

He also played a part in several big storylines on the soap including his many feuds, his tense relationship with Kim and fathering a child with Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham).

But in 2021, actor Alexander left the soap and Jamie was last seen on screen after faking his own death in a car crash. With his mum Kim convinced he’d passed away, Jamie secretly went to live with daughter Millie and her gran.

Since his soap stint, Alexander has remained booked and busy, appearing in the likes of BBC soap Doctors, comedy-drama series Everything I Know About Love and award-winning film, In from the Side.
But it turns out he almost had a stint on ITV’s hit show Dancing on Ice. However, things didn’t go to plan for Alexander during the audition.

In a video shared on Attitude’s Instagram, Alexander revealed: “I am terrible at ice skating. I did the worst, worst audition for Dancing on Ice once, in which I didn’t get it,” he added. Recalling the audition, Alexander noted: “It wasn’t family-friendly enough.”

Alexander didn’t let his Dancing on Ice snub get to him though, and his career has since gone from strength to strength.

This year, he had a main role in a Hollywood film, The Groomsmen: Second Chances, which made history as Hallmark Channel’s first-ever gay wedding story film.

Alexander plays Zack in the movie, which was released last week in the US, and he stars alongside the likes of Mean Girls’ Jonathan Bennett, B.J. Britt and Owen Davis.
The movie follows Danny (Jonathan Bennett) who heads to Greece to plan his friend and business manager Zack’s (Alexander Lincoln) wedding to a lawyer. But soon enough, Danny realises he has feelings for Zack and is in love with him.
