Coronation Street star Jonathan Howard was left in shock after finding his car smashed up last week.
The Carl Webster actor parked the vehicle in Manchester and found the back window had been shattered.
‘Nice little welcome back gift from the Manchester scallies,’ he wrote in an Instagram story, sharing a picture of his damaged car.
The actor moved back to Manchester from Hollywood in order to join the cast of Coronation Street, having worked on major projects like Godzilla and Thor.
‘I left the north of England 20 years ago, when I was 20. I went to do Dream Team in London then I went to drama school for three years,’ he previously explained.
‘I left drama school and managed to work in and moved to America. I’ve been in the States for the last 10 years with my wife and I have a daughter over there. The only hard thing is being away from them, but at the same time it’s a real gift to be back in the north of England.’

Since arriving on the cobbles, Jonathan’s character Carl has caused quite a stir.
He immediately hit it off with sister-in-law Abi Webster (Sally Carman), and made no secret of his feelings for her, despite the fact that brother Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) was married to her and undergoing treatment for testicular cancer.
Though Abi tried her best to keep Carl at arm’s length and deny her feelings for him, everything changed when she learnt that Kev had been lying about needing more chemotherapy.
Since then, Carl and Abi have been engaging in a steamy affair behind Kevin’s back.

Unfortunately for them, Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) figured out what they were up to, and has since been blackmailing them.
As well as Abi, Carl has also slept with James Bailey (Jason Callender), who has been boasting about his new connection to his family.
And it isn’t just hearts that Carl has been stealing, but also cars. Having arrived in Weatherfield in serious financial trouble, Carl quickly fell into step with con-woman Fiona and helped her pull off an MOT scam.
Since then, he has escalated to stealing cars, and has got Dylan Wilson (Liam McCheyne) and Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey) working for him.

However, it seems that his villainy extends even further, as earlier this week he was revealed as the man behind the wheel of the stolen car that hit Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall).
Ty was rushed to hospital, where doctors have since discovered two fractured vertebrae and a blood clot pressing on his spine, leaving him with concerns that he may never get the feeling back in his legs.
When Carl visited Tyrone, the mechanic confessed his fears, while a flashback revealed that Carl had been the one to ditch the car and set fire to it.
