k on all-new episodes of General Hospital, official spoilers for the soap opera indicate that the Quartermaine family will be in complete despair, so one can only surmise that this looks to be the moment that the family and viewers will learn that the beloved Monica Quartermaine (the late Leslie Charleson) has died.

In the latest GH fall preview from head writers, Elizabeth Korte and Chris Van Etten, they previously teased that Monica’s death and funeral would play out towards the end of September and that six-time Daytime Emmy winner, Erika Slezak (Viki, OLTL) will figure into this story as a new character. Fans believe Slezak will be playing Monica’s sister.

The scribes expressed, “When bidding farewell to her and to Monica, there could be no half-measures. Honoring Leslie’s contribution to General Hospital and Monica’s significance to Port Charles meant doing more than simply throwing a funeral and looking back at the past.”

As for next week’s all-new new episodes, Jason (Steve Burton) and Tracy (Jane Elliot) will connect after learning the somber news, and Jason will voice his regret. Meanwhile, Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) delivers bad news to Drew (Cameron Mathison).
