Coronation Street Tyrone’s other mum ‘set to return’ seven years after off-screen death

Coronation Street fans are convinced that a former legend is set to make a return to the cobbles, following Tyrone Dobbs’ recent hit-and-run horror

Coronation Street might be preparing to welcome back a soap legend, leaving Tyrone Dobbs in for a surprise.

Tyrone (played by Alan Halsall) has been a constant presence on the ITV soap since his first appearance in 1998. Initially introduced as a mischievous troublemaker, Tyrone was quickly taken under the wing of soap legends Jack and Vera Duckworth (portrayed by Bill Tarmey and Liz Dawn).

Over the years, Tyrone has been involved in numerous major storylines. From his multiple unsuccessful romances to being a victim of domestic abuse, his tenure in Weatherfield has been anything but dull.

Particularly at present, as just last week Tyrone found himself fighting for his life after being hit in a shocking hit-and-run incident. After being rushed to hospital, things took a dramatic turn for Tyrone.

Medical professionals confirmed that Tyrone had a blood clot pressing against his spine and two fractured vertebrae. Furthermore, Tyrone was unable to feel his legs, causing immediate worry among his family and friends, reports the Daily Star.

This week, Tyrone underwent surgery and despite its success, he was warned that it could take years before he regains full sensation in his legs.

However, with more drama on the horizon, fans are speculating that the soap might be planning to bring back a former legend, Tyrone’s adoptive mother Jackie Dobbs (played by Margi Clarke).

Jackie first appeared as Tyrone’s unpredictable mother in March 1998. She stirred up plenty of drama during her time on the show before departing Weatherfield in 1999.

Then in 2008, Corrie brought Jackie back and she featured intermittently until 2010. Jump forward to July 2018 though, and Tyrone received word from police that Jackie had passed away.

Yet, according to viewers, they believe Jackie isn’t actually deceased and might be making a comeback soon, amid Tyrone’s explosive current plot. On a Coronation Street Facebook fan page, one person posted: “Anyone remember Jackie Dobbs? I know she’s dead but they should bring her back.”

Another added: “She died off-screen didn’t she? Could be possible.” A third also commented: “That would be a good return especially with everything that Tyrone is going though.” Someone else remarked: “I’ve always thought we haven’t seen the last of her since she died off-screen.”

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX
