Emmerdale star Michael Parr (Ross Barton) has become a first-time dad as he and partner Isabelle Du Plessis proudly welcomed their baby daughter

A New Chapter for Ross Barton Actor

Emmerdale favourite Michael Parr has officially stepped into a brand-new role — fatherhood. The 39-year-old actor, best known for playing Ross Barton in the ITV soap, has welcomed his first child with his girlfriend Isabelle Du Plessis.

The proud couple revealed the arrival of their daughter in a series of heartwarming Instagram posts, delighting fans and co-stars alike.

“Welcome to the World, Suzie Rose Parr”

On Saturday evening, Isabelle shared a string of intimate photographs introducing their baby girl to the world. She captioned the post with the touching words: “Welcome to the world Suzie Rose Parr” alongside a red rose emoji — a sweet nod to both their joy and their daughter’s middle name.

One photo showed Michael beaming as he cradled his newborn daughter in his arms, while another captured the moment he carried her out of hospital in a protective car seat. A third image melted hearts further, as the new parents introduced baby Suzie to the family dog.

Isabelle herself glowed in the pictures, resting in her hospital bed while holding her daughter close.

Michael, who has played the soap bad boy on and off since 2013, wrapped the tot in a custom blanket which read 'baby Parr' before introducing her to the family dog

A Flood of Congratulations

The announcement was met with an outpouring of love from fans and friends. Messages of congratulations quickly filled the couple’s comments section.

One fan wrote: “Beautiful girl! Beautiful family!! So so many congratulations!” while another gushed: “Congratulations — she is a beautyyyyy!!”

Michael’s Emmerdale family also rushed to share their joy. Bradley Riches, who plays his on-screen brother Lewis Barton, left a heartfelt note: “Love you! X.” Actor Joe Gill added his own message of support, describing the new arrival as “amazing.”

From Pregnancy Reveal to Parenthood

The happy news marks the end of a journey that Michael and Isabelle have shared publicly since May. Back then, the couple announced their pregnancy in a creative beach photoshoot.

Smiling on the sand, they posed with Isabelle’s blossoming bump while writing a message that read: “MJP IDP Soon 2 B 3.” Their caption summed up the excitement perfectly: “In our Mum & Dad Era.”

Over the summer months, Isabelle documented her pregnancy on social media, sharing tender moments of anticipation. One striking photo showed Michael kissing her forehead while she held her bump, accompanied by the words: “Made a person with my favourite person.”

Michael himself was equally vocal, counting down to fatherhood with lighthearted posts. Just weeks before the birth, he uploaded a sunshine snap, writing: “Last few weeks before I become Poppa Parr!!! And yes I do wear this shirt a lot.”

Isabelle appeared delighted to greet her daughter

A Private But Loving Romance

Although the couple keeps much of their relationship out of the public eye, Michael has occasionally spoken about how special Isabelle is to him. In an interview with The Mirror last year, he confessed: “I’m in a very happy relationship. She’s amazing and has been very supportive.”

That support has now blossomed into parenthood, with the couple embracing their new life as a family of three.

Snaps also showed the little sleeping in a sweet animal onesie and hat with bear ears

What’s Next for Michael?

Michael Parr originally joined Emmerdale in 2013, quickly becoming a fan favourite as bad boy Ross Barton. His original run on the soap ended in 2018 when Ross left the village, but the character made a dramatic return this year, reintroduced through a gritty bare-knuckle fighting storyline.

Now, alongside his on-screen drama, Michael has plenty of real-life excitement ahead. Fatherhood marks the beginning of his biggest role yet — and judging by the photos, it’s one he has embraced with open arms and a wide smile.

A Heartfelt Beginning

From beachside pregnancy reveals to hospital cuddles, Michael and Isabelle’s journey into parenthood has captivated fans. Their daughter, Suzie Rose Parr, has already been welcomed with love and celebration, and there’s no doubt the actor’s Emmerdale family — both on-screen and off — will continue to cheer him on as he begins this touching new chapter.
