elly Reilly is showing a completely different side of herself. The “Yellowstone” actress, best known for playing fiery ranch heiress Beth Dutton opposite Kevin Costner, is nearly unrecognizable in first-look images from her upcoming Sky crime drama, “Under Salt Marsh.”
The British star takes on the role of Jackie Ellis, a former detective turned teacher who makes a shocking discovery that reopens a cold case tied to personal tragedy. In one image released by Sky, Reilly’s Jackie is seen scouring the wilderness with a torch in hand, soaked in rain and stripped of Beth Dutton’s trademark confidence and bravado. Another shows Jackie working reluctantly alongside her estranged partner, Eric Bull, played by Rafe Spall.
“Under Salt Marsh” follows Jackie and Eric as they confront a Welsh seaside town fractured by secrets and grief, according to The Mirror.
Sky teased, “Together, they must confront a community haunted by secrets and fractured by grief, before the incoming storm washes away the evidence forever.” The series is created, written, and directed by Claire Oakley, the filmmaker behind the acclaimed feature “Make Up.”
‘Under Salt Marsh’ Cast And What’s Next For ‘Yellowstone’ Fans

Alongside Reilly and Spall, the drama features a stellar cast, including Jonathan Pryce (“The Crown,” “Slow Horses”) and Harry Lawtey (“Industry”), with recurring roles for Naomi Yang, Dinita Gohil, Brian Gleeson, and Kimberley Nixon.
Sky describes the series as “atmospheric crime storytelling with a deeply human portrait of resilience and community.”
For Reilly, the series marks one of her first new roles since wrapping the fifth and final season of “Yellowstone” last December. While she may be stepping away from Montana ranch life in this project, she’s far from done with the Dutton family saga. Reilly will reprise her role as Beth in a forthcoming spinoff, provisionally titled “The Dutton Ranch,” which is expected to debut later this fall on the Paramount Network and Paramount+.
Series creator Taylor Sheridan previously admitted that “Yellowstone” ended earlier than planned due to behind-the-scenes conflicts with Costner. “There is more Dutton story to tell,” Sheridan confirmed via Bloomberg.
Fans last saw Beth and Rip (Cole Hauser) moving to a smaller property near Dillon, Montana, while Kayce Dutton helped secure the ranch’s future by selling it to Thomas Rainwater.
When rumors of a spinoff first surfaced, Reilly herself confirmed it on Instagram. Asked by a fan if the news was true, she simply responded, “true 🤍.”
“Under Salt Marsh” will premiere in 2026 on Sky and NOW, while “Yellowstone” and its upcoming spinoffs stream on Paramount+.
