The pair tied the knot after a dramatic edition of the BBC soap

EastEnders fans said they ‘feel ill’ after noticing a major character change following Lauren Branning and Peter Beale’s wedding.
Fans were left wondering about the couple’s future after Pete asked his fiancée if they could get married in the Queen Vic on Monday (September 29).
Peter took Lauren’s calls for them to make their relationship more exciting to the extreme after she complained that they were stuck in a rut.
The son of Ian Beale recently struck a friendship with a single mum named Demi, who Lauren ultimately became friends with.
Lauren and Peter’s engagement was called off a number of months ago, with Peter blaming Lauren’s past addiction issues for their son Jimmy being born severely sight impaired.
On top of this, Peter’s family don’t like Lauren, with his mum Cindy Beale trying to split them up on numerous occasions.
In scenes aired on Tuesday night (September 30), Lauren was left stunned and overwhelmed at the prospect of deciding then and there to get married.
Jacqueline Jossa’s character decided to make a dramatic exit from the wedding without anyone noticing early on in the episode.

Lauren was eventually intercepted by Stacey Slater, with her former sister-in-law saying she regretted taking the late Martin Fowler for granted.
Composing herself, Lauren returned to the Vic where she and Peter officially became husband and wife after sharing their vows.
With their family and friends in attendance, those inside the Vic were stunned to see Lauren’s dad Max Branning return to Walford after she threw the bouquet.
The father and daughter have not shared a scene in several years, with Max departing the soap back in 2021.
How Lauren reacts to her being back in her life and that he had an affair with Zoe Slater remains to be seen.
However, the night’s closing credits saw the reveal that Lauren is officially adopting the Beale surname after getting married.
Fans rushed to X, previously known as Twitter, following the reveal to have their say on the change, with many not supportive of the relationship.
@nicmitchells said: “rah what the f*** is this it better be temporary #eastenders.” @Craicthewhip_ added: “I hate that soaps always insist on this. In 2025 it really isn’t that common but soaps always do it.”

@EE_Fan1234 commented: “I actually want them together. But I don’t like Lauren Beale. I’d much rather take Lauren Branning-Beale that’s got a nice ring to it. They’re childhood sweethearts who deserve to be together. Sorry not sorry.”
