Coronation Street star Alan Halsall has revealed a ‘bucket list’ experience he experienced as he recently ditched the UK.
The actor, famed for playing Tyrone Dobbs in the ITV soap, is often found on the golf course when not playing his alter-ego on the cobbles.
And his keen interest in the sport saw him recently head to New York for the 2025 Ryder Cup, which saw Team Europe edge out Team USA across the three days of the tournament.
Alongside beaming pictures of himself Bethpage Black Course, which is located Bethpage State Park on Long Island, New York, Alan wrote on Instagram: “Bucket list officially checked [tick emoji].
“An unforgettable trip to New York for the Ryder Cup at Bethpage! [golf emoji]. The energy, the atmosphere, and the golf were on another level. A trip I’ll never forget, and memories that will last a lifetime. [trophy emoji] #RyderCup #Bethpage #BucketList.”
And his followers were quick to respond. This is England actor Thomas Turgoose said: “Unreal.” @carollacey23 commented: “Looks fantastic.” @grahamsharp8 wrote: “Awesome Lucky you.”
@calvinmillward replied: “Hope you had a wonderful experience in New York.” @futuremrsbourne added: “U look fantastic.”
Sticking with golf, and some may know that Alan teams up annually with his Corrie castmates Sam Aston and Andy Whyment, best known as Weatherfield’s Chesney Brown and Kirk Sutherland, hold a charity golf event.
Their latest event, which took place in July, was held at Worsley Park Golf Club in Manchester and drew more than 80 golfers, including fellow TV star Jamie Lomas.
It featured 18 holes of golf, a raffle and an auction, with standout prizes including a signed Bobby Charlton shirt and other sought-after sporting memorabilia
It was later revealed that more than £16,000 was raised by the trio for East Lancashire-based baby loss charity, Friends of Serenity, with them working alongside long-time event organiser Mark Brown.
