It comes after Vicky Myers was revealed to have picked up two gongs at the 2025 Inside Soap Awards
Coronation Street fans have been left emotional after spotting a ‘full circle’ moment for Lisa Swain as the actress who plays her was given a major boost.
Vicky Myers was revealed to have picked up two gongs at the 2025 Inside Soap Awards, which took place on Monday (September 29) night.
The actress went home with the Best Actress award for her portrayal of the Weatherfield detective sergeant, a role she has held since 2021, before being made a more prominent face on the cobbles in March 2024.
For the accolade, Vicky was seen beating off stiff competition from Lacey Turner (Stacey Slater, EastEnders), Beth Cordingly (Ruby Miligan, Emmerdale) and Isabelle Smith (Frankie Osborne, Hollyoaks).
She was also recognised for Best Partnership alongside her on-screen partner Alison King, who plays Carla Connor on the cobbles.
She told Bang Showbiz on the night: “I’m absolutely thrilled and it’s surreal actually to think that just over four years ago I came in as a guest star on four episodes and to be stood here now holding best actress award and best partnership award is surreal.”
The star-studded evening also saw Corrie win three other awards on the night, including the top gong for best soap for a second year running.
Among them was the award for best storyline, which went to Mason’s death and Abi’s PTSD. There to pick up the award was Sally Carman-Duttin, who plays Abi Webster in the ITV soap, and her two former co-stars, Luca Toolan and Harry Visinoni, who plays Mason Radcliffe and Seb Franklin.
Corrie fans will recall that Abi discovered Mason bleeding and badly wounded in Weatherfield Precinct after he had been stabbed with a “zombie knife” during a fight with his brothers Matty (Seamus McGoff) and Logan (Harry Lowbridge).
Despite Abi alerting the emergency services and staying with Mason as he fought for his life, Mason passed away in hospital.
Mason’s death brought back Abi’s feelings and memories in relation to the death of her son Seb in a hate crime committed by Corey Brent (Maximus Evans) in May 2021, and viewers began to see her suffer from flashbacks, hallucinations, and depression as the post-traumatic stress disorder took hold of her life.
With Vicky and Harry at the awards, some fans were quick to point out that it was the hate crime story in 2021 that brought Vicky onto their screens as Lisa.
On X (formerly Twitter), @Swain__Connor shared: “The full circle moment of his storyline being the reason we got DS Swain in the first place, to him being there 4 years later watching Vicky get best actress for the same role really makes me all emotional.”
