EastEnders Zoe Slater actress Michelle Ryan has shared an “exciting” update with fans in regards to the upcoming Christmas episodes set to air over the festive period

EastEnders star Michelle Ryan has disclosed that she’s been given the scripts for the forthcoming Christmas storylines.
The Zoe Slater actress has made her comeback to the BBC drama following a two-decade absence, and it appears there’s considerable turmoil on the horizon.
She took to her Instagram account on Friday (September 26) to deliver an “exciting” announcement to her supporters.
Accompanied by an image of azure skies dotted with white clouds, Michelle penned: “Looking over the Christmas episodes and separating out scripts for the coming week.
“No spoilers alert. Wow. Well done to the writer Lauren! So exciting! !”, reports the Daily Star.

Michelle’s recent Instagram update didn’t escape the notice of viewers, with several speculating about what might unfold in Albert Square during the holiday season.
One enthusiast commented: “I don’t think we’ve had Slater focused Christmas episodes for nearly seven years, as I think the last time we had a Slater focused Christmas Day episode was the 2018 reveal of Alfie and Hayley’s affair, so I’ve got high hopes for this.”
Another contributed: “Nice I wonder if it will be as explosive as the last time we saw Zoe onscreen at Christmas in 2004? Look forward to watching.”
A third individual remarked: “I’m looking forward to Zoe and Kat’s first ever Christmas together in 20 years, but it’s EastEnders and drama always follows at Christmas, lol. Nothing is smooth.”

A fourth social media participant stated: “Can’t wait to see what’s to come, hard to believe it’s just around the corner.”
In June this year, it was announced that Michelle was returning to Eastenders, with the soap star declaring it felt like she’d ‘come home’.
When asked why she’d returned, Michelle revealed: “It all happened at the right time.
“I’d already been thinking about a return because I’d met up with Kacey Ainsworth (Little Mo) and Kim Medcalf (Sam Mitchell) and we were reminiscing our fond memories of the show and I’d also joined social media and saw that there was still a lot of love for the character.
“It just so happened that at the same time, EastEnders had announced a new Exec [Ben Wadey] who was keen to explore the potential of a return as he was such a massive fan of Zoe and the Slaters, so both of our worlds aligned at the right time, and I’m so excited to be back.
“When Ben pitched me the storylines, and when I read the scripts, I knew it was the right decision.”
EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One and available to stream on BBC iPlayer from 6am
