NBC confirms fate of One Chicago leads, including Taylor Kinney, after expired contracts — what to know | HELLO!

Lt. Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) is seen helping trapped civilians on an L train, desperately trying to keep them safe as the ground beneath them begins to shake. “Stay on the train until the ground settles,” she commands, but things are about to take a dire turn. As Battalion Chief Pascal watches the situation unfold, he realizes that the building’s foundation is dangerously unstable. He radios Kidd, urging her to evacuate immediately before the structure collapses. But as panic sets in, Lt. Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) becomes frantic, especially when he realizes that his wife, Stella, is still on that train.

“I don’t care who’s still on that train. People are still on that train, including my wife!” Severide exclaims. His emotions are running high as he tries to hold it together, but with the building about to fall apart, time is running out. Sgt. Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) also feels the weight of the situation, especially as he’s told, “We’ve got two of our own down there,” referring to officers and medics trapped beneath the wreckage.

As the disaster unfolds, there’s one chilling moment when we see Kidd and Adam Ruzek (Patrick Flueger) trapped in the underground tunnel, struggling for air. “We’re running out of air,” Stella tells Ruzek in a moment of terrifying vulnerability. The clock is ticking as they try to hold onto hope, but with the risk of further collapse, their survival isn’t guaranteed.

Meanwhile, Chicago Med faces its own crisis. Sgt. Trudy Platt (Amy Morton) is seen being rushed into the emergency room, and Dr. Mitch Ripley (Luke Mitchell) can only say, “She’s crashing,” as Mouch (Christian Stolte) watches helplessly. The heart-wrenching moment amplifies the severity of the crossover, as the paramedics, police officers, and firefighters must now save not only civilians but also their own family members.

In the promo’s final moments, Lt. Severide is visibly shaken, his face covered in tears as he radios Kidd: “Kidd, do you copy?” Only static responds, and the uncertainty of her fate is left hanging in the air.

The official logline for the episode reads, “When a gas explosion rocks a high-rise, Chicago’s first responders come out in force to rescue hundreds of civilians. It’s the calamity beneath the surface, however, that sends our heroes on a race to save 40 people trapped deep underground, including two of their own.”

For fans of the One Chicago franchise, this three-show collaboration is the culmination of years of anticipation, especially after a long break from these massive crossovers. The last time these three shows teamed up for an event was in 2019, and since then, the world has changed. With the added challenges of the pandemic and the SAG-AFTRA strike, this crossover is more than just a reunion—it’s a chance for the characters to show just how far they’ll go to save one another.
