‘Chicago Fire’ Star Jake Lockett Marries Dominique Domingo in Intimate Hawaiian Ceremony
Love is in the air — and under a waterfall — for Chicago Fire’s Jake Lockett and actress Dominique Domingo.
Jake Lockett, best known for his role as firefighter Sam Carver on NBC’s hit drama Chicago Fire, has tied the knot with actress and dancer Dominique Domingo in an intimate elopement ceremony in Hawaii. The couple, who met during a commercial audition, chose to exchange vows on June 18th in a serene and private ceremony on the north shore of Kauai, surrounded by lush landscapes and cascading waterfalls.
Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE, Lockett and Domingo shared that the decision to elope was intentional — a desire to focus solely on each other on their special day. “We both felt like anything bigger than our immediate family wouldn’t allow us to focus on each other as much,” Lockett explained. “So, keeping it small and simple was imperative.”
The ceremony was attended only by their parents, along with a photographer and videographer to capture the moment. Domingo, who wore a flowing gown by Maggie Sottero, said nature played a central role in the theme and atmosphere of the wedding. “There was no need for added décor because Mother Nature handled it all,” she said. “We wanted the vibe to be serene, intimate, and peaceful — and that’s exactly what it was.”
The couple wrote and exchanged their own vows, incorporating symbolic elements of earth and water into the ceremony, which they described as “purifying and unifying.”
In the days surrounding the wedding, the two families bonded in true island style — sharing meals, watching classic comedies, and enjoying time in the ocean. “Our families had never met before,” said Lockett, “so making sure we had time to commune together was important to us.”
Domingo, who will appear in the upcoming The Accountant 2 alongside Ben Affleck, also has credits as a dancer in La La Land and Netflix’s Running Point. Lockett, meanwhile, has appeared on several high-profile TV shows including Hawaii Five-0, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and Masters of Sex. However, it was his role as Sam Carver on Chicago Fire that made him a household name among fans of the One Chicago franchise.
Earlier this year, Lockett announced his departure from Chicago Fire after three seasons, expressing gratitude for his time on the show. “It’s been an honor bringing Sam to life,” he shared in an emotional social media post. “While I don’t know exactly what the future looks like, I do know it won’t be exactly what it was — and I’m going to miss the hell out of that.”
Although his chapter on Chicago Fire may have ended, this new beginning in his personal life marks a joyful next step. Fans will no doubt be cheering him on — both in love and in whatever role comes next.
