Those who follow the ITV soap now know that Becky made an unexpected arrival in Weatherfield last month
Coronation Street fans have made a demand over what they ‘need’ in Becky Swain’s return storyline as one of the shows star’s teased its future.
Those who follow the ITV soap now know the character made an unexpected arrival in Weatherfield last month, much to the shock of her former wife, Lisa Swain.
The detective sergeant was shook to her core as she came face-to-face with Becky in the living room of her and fiancée Carla Connor’s new abode, No.6 Coronation Street.
Why I hear you ask? Because she had mourned the loss of her wife, who was believed to have died in the line of duty nearly four years ago.
Lisa’s jaw was on the floor to see Becky, alive and well, opposite her in her new home with new fiancée Carla, with the arrival coming on their daughter Betsy’s, 18th birthday.
As an emotional Lisa was unable to figure out if what was happening was real, Becky explained that she had been in Spain under another name having been put into witness protection, following an undercover operation gone wrong.
Since then, Lisa has clearly been battling with her feelings, while also trying to get to the truth of what really happened. She confronted her boss, DI Costello.
Becky has since been hanging around Weatherfield, much to Carla’s disdain, as the Underworld factory boss recently snapped at Becky and told her to ‘go back to being dead’.
She, however, didn’t listen and later headed back to talk to Lisa. When Betsy arrived, she was furious that her mum had let Becky in and ordered her to leave after she had earlier tried to ‘parent her’ after several years away.
But when Becky gave her a handful of cards, revealing that while she was away, she had written a card for every one of Betsy’s birthdays she missed, saying what she wished she could tell her in person, Betsy softened and told her mum to stay, leaving Carla slightly put out when she returned home to find the quite friendly domestic setting.
Things have since been quiet for the Connor-Swains, and it seems Corrie fans are needing answers about Becky and Lisa’s lives.
@Fake_TV_Chef said: “We NEED a flashback episode for Lisa and Becky to understand their past and how it effects the present. Sadly, we probably won’t get one because they wasted it on Kit, Mick and Lou when they could’ve just said they knew each other as teens without showing it. #Swarla #Corrie.”

It comes after actress Vicky Myers, who plays Lisa, said in an interview with Digital Spy: “There’s still obviously 20 years of history between Lisa and Becky. And obviously Becky is Betsy’s mum, so this has really thrown a spanner in the works, to put it lightly.

“So I think it’s going to be really interesting for the viewers to watch this whole dynamic play out. To have that understanding as to this history that they’ve got together, where they were 20 years ago, and what was happening when these two women found something in each other and had to wait to get married. They got married and had a child, so there’s a lot to come.”
