Corrie viewers reckon they’ve sussed out Jason Grimshaw’s secret offspring on the street, and it turns out to be someone we all know.

Jason (played by Ryan Thomas) first appeared in the show in 2000, arriving as Eileen Grimshaw’s (portrayed by Sue Cleaver) son. He quickly became a hit with viewers.

His time in Weatherfield has been peppered with high-stakes storylines, from brawls to the revelation of his real dad, ensuring that Jason’s life has been anything but dull.

Moreover, Jason has had his fair share of memorable love interests – his marriage to Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) and turbulent relationships with characters like Becky McDonald (Katherine Kelly), Rosie Webster (Helen Flanagan), and Stella Price (Michelle Collins).

In 2016, Jason departed for Thailand to start anew. However, he made a comeback last week after nine years away, coinciding with his on-screen mother Sue Cleaver’s departure plot, reports Leicestershire Live.

Ryan Thomas, who plays Jason, has hinted at the reasons for his character’s return: “He’s struggling for money, his girlfriend left him, and he needs his mum. He says he’s come back for Eileen, but he really needs a cuddle and his safety net.”

But Jason’s homecoming wasn’t without controversy – he quickly stirred up trouble by having a fling with Danielle (Natalie Anderson), who is married to Todd’s (Gareth Pierce) partner Theo Silverton (James Cartwright).

Corrie enthusiasts have been speculating a potential DNA shocker for Jason. As they took to a Corrie Facebook fan page, one viewer speculated: “Could Jason have a secret kid somewhere?”

Echoing the sentiment, another fan replied: “Surprised he doesn’t to be fair.” While a third added: “They could retcon a few things to make it happen.”

The speculation didn’t end there as another suggested Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) or Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) might be his undiscovered offspring.
