There were hints of a wedding on Coronation Street on Friday night after months of fans calling for Swarla to tie the knot.

Lisa Swain proposed to her partner Carla Connor after a difficult day in Weatherfield. News of PC Craig Tinker’s death at the hands of villain Mick Michaelis spread, leaving residents grief-stricken.

Lisa had the horrendous task of carrying on as normal, with the detective questioning and then charging killer Mick over the death of her beloved colleague. Lisa managed to hold it together despite clearly suffering from the loss, and feeling guilty over her final chat with Craig before his sad death.

The young officer was killed on duty, just after Lisa had encouraged him to get out there and be the best officer he could. Craig was grateful to Lisa for her support, leaving her a touching voicemail to thank her after a run-in with colleague Kit Green.

But sadly moments later Craig was attacked, with him later dying from his catastrophic injuries in hospital. Lisa was left reeling by his loss and determined to get justice, and she was the one who questioned Mick before telling him he was charged.

But it all took its toll and as she returned home to her oblivious girlfriend Carla, who had no idea Craig was dead or what had been going on, she broke down. Lisa sobbed in heartbreaking scenes as the true toll of the day became visible to both fans and Carla.

As Carla herself reeled from the death of Craig, she supported her numb partner who struggled to comprehend what had happened to Craig. She also spoke of her late wife Becky, who was also killed in the line of duty years earlier.

She told Carla: “Why do we put off things we really want cos we think there’s more time?” Telling Carla there wasn’t always more time, she shared how both Craig and Becky would have had no idea that their time would run out.

It spurred Lisa on though to grab happiness while she could, as teased in recent spoilers. But what was kept secret until transmission despite some speculation was that Lisa had an instant request for Carla, no doubt encouraged by the tragic loss of Craig.

Realising time could be up at any point, with Craig having his whole life ahead of him, Lisa realised what she wanted and needed in that precise moment. She turned to Carla and said: “Marry me.”

Carla had to double-take, clearly not expecting the words to leave Lisa’s mouth, leading to Lisa then repeating the same request, “marry me”. The episode rather annoyingly ended before fans could find out Carla’s answer, while she was left visibly shocked.

So will Carla agree to the proposal, and could a Swarla wedding be on the cards? Is it time to buy a hat? Viewers will no doubt be hoping so, while new spoilers have teased what happens next.

On Monday fans will see the fallout to the proposal, and will find out what happened after Lisa asked the question. They will find out how Carla reacted, and how she feels about it – and more importantly whether she said yes.

In the episode Carla will have another chat with Lisa, where she asks her if she meant what she said, and if she actually wants to marry her. No doubt worrying it was all a spontaneous decision and the worry and grief talking, Carla will ask Lisa how she feels now about it.

As she quizzes her partner on whether she meant what she said and if she does in fact want to marry her, she’ll get the answer she needs – as will Lisa very likely. So will Lisa stand by her proposal, and will Carla give her the answer she’s hoping for?

While Emmerdale’s Aaron Dingle faces betrayal, secrets, and emotional chaos on screen, the man behind the role—Danny Miller—has never looked happier in real life. The beloved soap actor has shared a deeply moving update that has fans in tears for all the right reasons: his growing family. Just weeks after welcoming his third child, Danny took to Instagram to post a joyful holiday snap with wife Steph and their children—marking their first trip away as a family of five. Beaming from the pool with their two older kids, Albert and Edith, Danny captioned the post with simple yet powerful words: “Family: where life begins and love never ends.” It was a moment of pure contrast to the heartache unfolding for Aaron in Emmerdale. On the show, Aaron has had a turbulent 2025: still reeling from Anthony Fox’s death, navigating a tense marriage to John Sugden, and facing the emotional return of his ex-husband, Robert. Viewers know that while Aaron appears loyal to John for now, he remains dangerously unaware of John’s darkest secret—John accidentally killed Nate Robinson while trying to “save” him. It’s only a matter of time before Aaron’s world unravels again. But off-screen? Danny is basking in peace and gratitude. The actor, who made his Emmerdale debut as Aaron in 2008, has tackled countless emotionally wrenching scenes over the years—from struggles with identity to heartbreak and loss. And yet, fans say his latest real-life post shows more joy than even his happiest fictional moment. Holding his wife, with children clinging to his side and a newborn in their arms, Danny’s happiness is radiant. Just days earlier, Danny had posted a heartwarming welcome to the newest member of the family: “Welcome Vincent Miller. Born 10/07/25, Weighing 8lb 8oz. We could not be happier with our family of 5.” The video of Albert and Edith meeting their baby brother for the first time only added to the emotional impact—brother and sister walking hand-in-hand toward their mum, their eyes filled with curiosity and wonder. The response online was overwhelming. Fans flooded the comments with love: “Gorgeous wee family, it’s heartwarming to see”, one wrote. Another added, “Love watching your family grow.” And perhaps the most touching message of all came from Danny himself, just days before: “Never in my life did I think I’d find happiness of this level… so here’s a picture to describe it for me.” While Aaron Dingle may be on the verge of heartbreak, Danny Miller is living a chapter filled with love, legacy, and new beginnings. It’s a beautiful reminder that even when fiction brings tears, real life can offer peace.
