Curious about her fellow co-star’s thoughts on the controversial show, panellist Ruth Langsford questioned if there is too much pressure to lose your virginity.

Sue confessed: “I think that term ‘losing’ your virginity is the problem. That’s a social construct. What worries me is that we have done forever, use that as a benchmark for self-worth and what’s normal.

“If we remove that term, I don’t think we’d have as many problems, but yeah. I lost my virginity too young, I feel now.

“It was purely out of peer pressure because everybody was talking about it. You felt like you had to do it.”

Although Ruth highlighted that’s what young people do, Sue told the ITV star the term ‘losing your virginity’ should be banned.

Coleen Nolan quipped: “But you do lose it! You never get it back, do you?” As the audience laughed at her remark, Sunetra Sarker stated a new term would be created if that one were removed.

At the end of March, Sue confirmed on Loose Women that she had filmed her final scenes on Coronation Street after 25 years on the long-running ITV soap.

The 61-year-old told her colleagues it was a surreal experience leaving the set as she revealed the scenes would air later on in the year.

She commented: “That was it, that was a wrap and that was me saying bye to everybody. It was so emotional. It was really emotional.

“It was so weird because I didn’t know how I was going to feel, but all week I was having really intense dreams of being murdered and a lot of carving knives appearing.

“I looked it up, and knives are about severance, about the end of something… They were all anxiety dreams.”
