Farrel Hegarty recently made her debut on Coronation Street as Lou Michaelis in February 2025.

The actress knows her part has already been compared to legendary battle axes such as Janice Battersby, who was played by Vicky Entwistle.

“Lou is gobby, loud, irrational and it’s lovely to be compared to such a big character, like Janice Battersby,” she admitted to The Mirror.

“You always dream of landing a part like Lou. So to get it later in life, is overwhelming and I cried. I was so happy.”

However, she admitted that her contract on the show was only for a finite about of time, but before she will relish every second.

“I’ve loved it all and even now, a few months in, it’s surreal walking on the cobbles.” Farrel gushed.

“So much has happened in such a short time, and we’ve caused chaos. I’ve never had so many arguments!”

“To get this role is a dream come true, but I always knew I would one day be leaving.

She added: “Joe [Layton] and I came in together and will leave together. How we do it, I can’t say, but it’s brilliant being part of the show.

“Watching the other actors is like a masterclass in acting. When I do film my final scenes, I’ll probably cry.”

Coronation Street’s battered and bloodied Craig left unconscious on the cobbles after a vicious attack

Before she landed her role on the long-running ITV soap, the actress admitted that she was planning to move to Australia as life as a jobbing actress is ‘hard’.

The star admitted: “Working as a jobbing actress can be hard. There were 50 people in my year at drama school 15 years ago.

“When we recently counted how many were still acting, it was only seven.

“I was about to move to Australia, to move in with my partner and the audition came up.”

To get this role is a dream come true, but I always knew I would one day be leaving.

She added: “Either way, my life was about to go in a different direction, as I knew I’d either be going to Australia or joining Coronation Street.

“I knew if I got the role, then it was my time. Having a long-distance relationship is definitely not for the faint-hearted but my partner was never going to be angry that I was going to be in Corrie.

“She knows how much it meant to me and how tough it has been.”

While Emmerdale’s Aaron Dingle faces betrayal, secrets, and emotional chaos on screen, the man behind the role—Danny Miller—has never looked happier in real life. The beloved soap actor has shared a deeply moving update that has fans in tears for all the right reasons: his growing family. Just weeks after welcoming his third child, Danny took to Instagram to post a joyful holiday snap with wife Steph and their children—marking their first trip away as a family of five. Beaming from the pool with their two older kids, Albert and Edith, Danny captioned the post with simple yet powerful words: “Family: where life begins and love never ends.” It was a moment of pure contrast to the heartache unfolding for Aaron in Emmerdale. On the show, Aaron has had a turbulent 2025: still reeling from Anthony Fox’s death, navigating a tense marriage to John Sugden, and facing the emotional return of his ex-husband, Robert. Viewers know that while Aaron appears loyal to John for now, he remains dangerously unaware of John’s darkest secret—John accidentally killed Nate Robinson while trying to “save” him. It’s only a matter of time before Aaron’s world unravels again. But off-screen? Danny is basking in peace and gratitude. The actor, who made his Emmerdale debut as Aaron in 2008, has tackled countless emotionally wrenching scenes over the years—from struggles with identity to heartbreak and loss. And yet, fans say his latest real-life post shows more joy than even his happiest fictional moment. Holding his wife, with children clinging to his side and a newborn in their arms, Danny’s happiness is radiant. Just days earlier, Danny had posted a heartwarming welcome to the newest member of the family: “Welcome Vincent Miller. Born 10/07/25, Weighing 8lb 8oz. We could not be happier with our family of 5.” The video of Albert and Edith meeting their baby brother for the first time only added to the emotional impact—brother and sister walking hand-in-hand toward their mum, their eyes filled with curiosity and wonder. The response online was overwhelming. Fans flooded the comments with love: “Gorgeous wee family, it’s heartwarming to see”, one wrote. Another added, “Love watching your family grow.” And perhaps the most touching message of all came from Danny himself, just days before: “Never in my life did I think I’d find happiness of this level… so here’s a picture to describe it for me.” While Aaron Dingle may be on the verge of heartbreak, Danny Miller is living a chapter filled with love, legacy, and new beginnings. It’s a beautiful reminder that even when fiction brings tears, real life can offer peace.
