Coronation Street star lands ‘normal job’ after quitting soap

Coronation Street’s Adam Hussain has pitched in at his family’s tailoring business not long after announcing his departure from the ITV soap.

The actor, who portrayed Aadi Alahan for half a decade was spotted helping out in Sale, Manchester. Adam, 24, last month made public his decision to exit Coronation Street and seek “new pastures” since he joined the cast in 2020.

Following his beloved run on the show, Adam recently offered fans an insight into his day-to-day life with an Instagram post showing him at work among sewing machines and clothes awaiting alterations.

His post read: “Helping out at the family business.” Tagging the location of Stitch In Time tailors, thereby giving his family venture a plug. This grounding step comes as Adam prepares to bid farewell to Coronation Street after more than five years.

His upcoming departure is part of a string of exits from the series, coinciding with reports of financial difficulties that have seen seven notable actors leave.

In an emotional reveal on Instagram last month, Hussain shared news of his departure, commenting, “I guess the secrets out now! As some of you may have heard, I will be leaving Coronation Street for new pastures.”

He continued, expressing gratitude for his time on the show: “Over the five years I’ve spent there I have learned so much about the world and the industry and now feel I am ready to spread my wings a little.”

However, the popular actor gave words of reassurance to his followers, hinting at his character’s return in the future: “This isn’t a farewell for Aadi however, more like a see you later!”

“I’m excited to see what the future brings! Thank you @coronationstreet @itv for giving me such a privilege of portraying this character for you. Until next time!”

Adam Hussain, who took on the role of Aadi in Coronation Street back in April 2020, has said his farewells to Weatherfield as he looks ahead to new ventures.

The actor assumed the part from Zennon Ditchett, who departed to concentrate on his education.

Playing the son of Dev Alahan and twin to Asha, Hussain has decided to move on from the iconic soap after two years.

Insiders reveal that while it was a significant choice, Adam is buoyed by confidence and excitement for what lies ahead.

Numerous opportunities have been flooding in, affirming to Hussain that his decision to leave was a sound one.

Adam recently shared a throwback photo with fellow actors, including Kirsty-Leigh Porter of Hollyoaks fame, from their upcoming film Spice for Life.

In the caption alongside the snapshot, Hussain expressed his enjoyment: “Was great working with these lot”.

Coronation Street airs three times a week, every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 8pm, on ITV1 and available on ITVX.

While Emmerdale’s Aaron Dingle faces betrayal, secrets, and emotional chaos on screen, the man behind the role—Danny Miller—has never looked happier in real life. The beloved soap actor has shared a deeply moving update that has fans in tears for all the right reasons: his growing family. Just weeks after welcoming his third child, Danny took to Instagram to post a joyful holiday snap with wife Steph and their children—marking their first trip away as a family of five. Beaming from the pool with their two older kids, Albert and Edith, Danny captioned the post with simple yet powerful words: “Family: where life begins and love never ends.” It was a moment of pure contrast to the heartache unfolding for Aaron in Emmerdale. On the show, Aaron has had a turbulent 2025: still reeling from Anthony Fox’s death, navigating a tense marriage to John Sugden, and facing the emotional return of his ex-husband, Robert. Viewers know that while Aaron appears loyal to John for now, he remains dangerously unaware of John’s darkest secret—John accidentally killed Nate Robinson while trying to “save” him. It’s only a matter of time before Aaron’s world unravels again. But off-screen? Danny is basking in peace and gratitude. The actor, who made his Emmerdale debut as Aaron in 2008, has tackled countless emotionally wrenching scenes over the years—from struggles with identity to heartbreak and loss. And yet, fans say his latest real-life post shows more joy than even his happiest fictional moment. Holding his wife, with children clinging to his side and a newborn in their arms, Danny’s happiness is radiant. Just days earlier, Danny had posted a heartwarming welcome to the newest member of the family: “Welcome Vincent Miller. Born 10/07/25, Weighing 8lb 8oz. We could not be happier with our family of 5.” The video of Albert and Edith meeting their baby brother for the first time only added to the emotional impact—brother and sister walking hand-in-hand toward their mum, their eyes filled with curiosity and wonder. The response online was overwhelming. Fans flooded the comments with love: “Gorgeous wee family, it’s heartwarming to see”, one wrote. Another added, “Love watching your family grow.” And perhaps the most touching message of all came from Danny himself, just days before: “Never in my life did I think I’d find happiness of this level… so here’s a picture to describe it for me.” While Aaron Dingle may be on the verge of heartbreak, Danny Miller is living a chapter filled with love, legacy, and new beginnings. It’s a beautiful reminder that even when fiction brings tears, real life can offer peace.
