Coronation Street actor Daniel Brocklebank took to his Instagram with a three-word message after news broke about his confirmed exit.
Daniel joined Coronation Street in 2014 to take on the role of reformed vicar Billy Mayhew. After various ups and downs in the romance department, he eventually fell in love and settled down with Paul Foreman.
Sadly, their love story ended last year when Paul died due to his motor neurone disease, leaving Billy struggling with grief and even turning to alcohol.
It appears the heartbreaking news won’t end there for Billy, however, as his exit has been confirmed for next year.
In a statement shared with The Mirror, Dan said: “I have been working on Corrie for a quarter of my life. I have adored every minute I have been in that building and have never not looked forward to going into work.
“I love everyone who works on this show and whilst I am sad to be going, I am equally excited to see what the future holds.”

Taking to his Instagram after the news was announced, Daniel wrote: “Bye bye Billy” followed by a red heart emoji as he showed a picture of his cast card.
Fans were quick to react to the news, and on X (formerly known as Twitter), @mishybabez_ wrote: “BILLY IS LEAVING OH MY GOSHHH”
@Louise07955 added: “I’m not surprised he’s leaving his character hasn’t really got any connection to the street anymore, wonder if we’re going to lose Summer as well.”
While we’re not sure whether Daniel will leave dead or alive yet, actor Colson Smith was the most recent star to bid farewell to the cobbles after his character Craig Tinker was brutally murdered.
