Callum Highway (Tony Clay) has made his feelings abundantly clear in EastEnders, telling Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff) that he wants to go public with their romance.
The detective, as viewers know, struggled to resist temptation earlier this year when sparks flew between he and Johnny, with one thing leading to another.
After spending the night at the Vic with his new beau, Callum felt guilty that he was betraying husband Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden), who is currently serving a stretch in prison for fraud-related charges.
Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) and Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) weren’t too pleased when they uncovered the pair’s passion, with the former resorting to violence while the latter urged Callum against playing with fire in Ben’s absence.
Callum, however, has struggled to stay from Johnny (and vice versa), especially since estranged dad Jonno returned to the Square.
Jonno proved himself as troublesome as ever, getting into bother with the law over homophobic comments made outside The Albert.

Johnny suggested Callum meet with Jonno to see if he’d turned over a new leaf but things soon became heated, with Jonno suffering a heart attack as he lashed out.
As Callum went to get help, Jonno died – but not before telling Johnny to tell his son that he’s ‘ashamed’ of him.
Apalled at Jonno’s hateful words right at the very end, Johnny lied to Callum about what his father’s final utterance was, instead telling him that Jonno had simply asked for forgiveness.
Overwhelmed and grateful for the support, Callum wasted little time in kissing Johnny. ‘This is me realising what I want – what I need‘, he told his lover, ‘and it’s right here in front of me’.
Callum reiterated such a thing during Monday’s offering of the BBC One soap and on Tuesday, he prepared something to say at his dad’s funeral – with some help from Johnny.

During an emotional heart-to-heart in the Albert, Callum again told Johnny how he felt – and he’s ready to scream it from the rooftops.
‘I want people to know about us, Johnny’, he said. ‘No more hiding’.
Johnny couldn’t help but smile, telling his partner that he feels the same way. However, the solicitor felt they should proceed with caution and hold off on making things official until after Jonno’s send-off.
As Callum agreed and returned to his writing, a look of sadness washed over Johnny’s face. Despite his good intentions when lying about what Jonno’s final words were, it’s clear that the weight of such a thing is starting to weigh heavy on him.

The question is: will the truth come out? And if so, will Cal see that Johnny was trying to spare him any further grief? Or will it instead spell the end of their romance before it really has the chance to get off the ground?
This is Walford we’re talking about, so the latter is the likeliest option! And let’s not forget that Jonno’s funeral will also see the return of Ben, with on-location pictures confirming that he and Callum share a kiss.
With Johnny also present at the service, will all hell break loose?
Discussing the scenes, actor Charlie Suff said: ‘There’s a lot of stuff to come, especially with Ben having a day release,’ Charlie teased.
‘There’s a lot to wade through, but they’re going through it together, and I think they both feel a lot stronger and more complete by each other’s side.
‘There is a lot coming their way.’
