EastEnders spoilers follow for next week’s episodes.

EastEnders‘ Kat and Zoe Slater have had an incredibly tense relationship since Zoe turned up on Albert Square again recently, constantly threatening to leave if Kat pries too much into what she’s been up to in her absence. But it looks like that might finally change next week.

The mother-daughter duo, as well as Stacey, were held hostage by a man named Greg in The Vic this week. During the tense showdown, it was revealed to Zoe’s family that she had two kids and gave one of them up after the other tragically died.

The Slaters managed to knock Greg out, and when Ravi Gulati and Jack Branning arrived, they managed to spin it to frame Greg for the recent shooting.

But that’s not the only way things have changed going forward.

In scenes set to air next week, the Slater women are still reeling from the ordeal. Kat, Stacey and Alfie Moon try to get more information out of Zoe, but they become frustrated when she continues to be evasive about her past.

Later on in the week, in Thursday’s (25 September) episode, Kat gets Stacey to help her plant a memorial for Zoe’s late daughter.

That causes Zoe to start to thaw out on Kat, and it looks like this could be a real turning point in their relationship.

Elsewhere, next week’s episodes will see the return of Sharon Watts, who will walk straight into some big drama and not be amused – how will her comeback play out?

EastEnders fans will remember the deep wounds that exist between Sharon and Zoe,” said an insider for the BBC soap. “Sharon’s dad, Den, forced Zoe to lie and say that she was pregnant with Dennis’s baby to keep Sharon and his son apart.

“Then, there’s also the fact that Den seduced Zoe, and of course, Zoe’s involvement in the cover-up of Den’s brutal murder at the hands of Chrissie Watts. Surely, it’s no surprise that the truce barely lasts two seconds…”

EastEnders airs on Mondays-Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
