EastEnders viewers were thrilled by Sharon Watts’ comeback during Monday’s episode of the BBC One drama.
Sharon, portrayed by Letitia Dean, made her dramatic return in the latest instalment (22 September) following a five-month absence from Albert Square.
Throughout the episode, Sharon arrived back in Walford but was stunned to see Zoe Slater, portrayed by Michelle Ryan, standing outside No. 31.

Audiences will remember that Zoe made a shocking comeback earlier this year after two decades whilst Sharon was absent from Walford.
Following Sharon’s return and an intense face-off with Zoe, Vicki Fowler and Zack Hudson were eager to welcome her back, reports OK!.

Nevertheless, Sharon stayed focused on Zoe and intended to challenge her before Zoe was suddenly seized by police for questioning.
Subsequently, after Zoe’s release without facing any charges, Sharon went to The Vic and declared a truce with Zoe.
Yet, in typical soap fashion, this peace agreement is unlikely to endure….
Hinting at Sharon’s comeback and forthcoming storylines, Alice Haig, who portrays Vicki, commented regarding whether Vicki had informed Sharon about Zoe’s return: “No, Vicki has kept it to herself because she was worried that Sharon wouldn’t come back if she told her.
“Vicki knows how much Sharon has been through, and she feels quite protective of her, plus she’s fearful of what Sharon might do. It’s explosive when Sharon arrives and finds out that Zoe is back in the Square.”
She further elaborated on the “unfinished business” between Sharon and Zoe in Albert Square, stating: “The amount of lies and deception that went down all those years ago was just awful, so there’s a lot of unfinished business between them and Zoe.

“It wasn’t just the affair with Den, it was also that he convinced Zoe to lie about being pregnant by Dennis, and then there’s the murder. It’s as if a whole nightmare has now resurfaced.”
When asked whether Sharon and Vicki are “united in their belief that Zoe should be chased out of Albert Square”, she affirmed: “Yes!”
“There are lots of twists and turns to come, but it’s safe to say that they are both very, very angry with Zoe.
“However, there are moments when Sharon and Vicki want to be on the same page, but don’t quite succeed…”
EastEnders continues Monday to Thursday at 7:30pm on BBC One with episodes also available to watch earlier on BBC iPlayer.
