Emmerdale has revealed which character could come between Vinny Dingle and his plan to adopt Gabby’s son Thomas as someone close to the family questions him – who could it be?

Gabby and Vinny tied the knot in last week’s episodes after a dramatic moment in which Vinny almost failed to show up to the wedding.

Ahead of the ceremony, Vinny was filled with panic when Gabby turned up to chat to him through a closed door, telling him that something had been bothering her.

Explaining to Vinny that she felt like they weren’t a real family, Gabby asked her husband-to-be if he would like to adopt Thomas, and Vinny said he would be honoured to.

Viewers will know that Thomas’s dad is Kim Tate’s son Jamie, who faked his own death several years back, although Kim now knows that he is alive.

In today’s (26 September) episode, Gabby told Vinny that they could officially start the adoption process without Jamie’s consent as he’s technically classed as an absentee.

In scenes set to air next week, Kim shares her thoughts on the adoption, saying she is opposed to the idea as it would erase Jamie from his life, but Vinny and Mandy convince her how much having a dad will mean to Thomas.

The celebration over the adoption is short-lived for Vinny when the abusive Mike, who Vinny is in the process of testifying against in court, arrives in the village.

With Vinny questioning his sexuality and Gabby hiding the fact that she was unfaithful to Vinny, the couple already have quite a lot going on.

Previously speaking about their adoption plans, an insider told us: “Vinny is in turmoil. He knows how much adoption means to Gabby and he truly adores Thomas, but he can’t help but feel awful that he would become a dad while concealing so much from Gabby.

“Given how much of a milestone officially entering parenthood would be, it makes you wonder whether it’ll encourage him to finally open up about his plight. Or might Gabby crumble under the pressure and admit her betrayal first? It’s such a messy situation.”
