Emmerdale has revealed Aaron Dingle’s fate and what’s next for Robert Sugden after Monday’s (8 September) dramatic events.
This week saw Aaron finally discover the truth about his husband John, and when Robert turned to help his ex, the disgraced medic grabbed his spouse and threw both of them down the side of a gorge.
Right before that, he made a staged call to the emergency services claiming that Robert was threatening the pair in order to implicate him in the fall.
Tonight’s episode saw Robert making his own call for an ambulance, who soon turned up. The paramedics surmised that both Aaron and John had survived the fall, but that didn’t mean the drama was over.

The medical team stated that the two had suffered a “major trauma” and had a resus team at the hospital ready for them.
Elsewhere, Paddy Kirk and Victoria went looking for the trio. After seeing the ambulance go past, they followed it to the hospital.
Chas and Dr Liam arrived after Victoria called them, with Chas adamant that Robert was to blame. “He’s been obsessed with him ever since he got out. I don’t believe in coincidences,” she told Charity.
At the hospital, Paddy revealed that John is likely to recover, but Aaron had to be taken into surgery.
Victoria tried to question Robert about what happened, but struggled to believe what she was hearing about John.

Chas walked in and went even further, accusing Robert of being jealous and doing everything he could to ruin his relationship with Aaron.
Paddy tried to defend Robert, stating that something has been off with John lately. Robert said he didn’t push them as he’d never hurt Aaron, but not even Victoria could believe him, citing his history of violence.
“You better hope they make it, Robert. Because if they don’t, I’m coming for you. We are all,” Chas threatened.

Near the end of the episode, a nurse arrived and revealed that Aaron had suffered a cardiac arrest and, due to a bleed on the brain, they had to put him into an induced coma. John, meanwhile, was in a better conditioned but still not great, and was being monitored.
Things then got even worse for Robert as the police turned up to arrest him on suspicion of attempted murder.
Everyone looked on as the police dragged an angry and aggressive Robert away, as he pleaded with them to try and find Mack.
