Emmerdale star Oliver Farnworth appeared on This Morning as he discussed John Sugden’s upcoming doom in the Dales.
The actor joined the ITV soap last year to take on the role of mysterious newcomer John Sugden who has since struck up a relationship with Dales favourite, Aaron Dingle.
After a whirlwind romance, wedding bells have arrived as this week of episodes has been dedicated to the couple’s big day – if they make it down the aisle, of course.
While most of the village has accepted John and praised him as a hero, viewers have been let in on all his secrets, and they’re pretty dark.
John appears to have a “hero complex” where he consistently puts others in danger just to save them, however, as viewers we’ve seen this go wrong for him a couple times.
Nate Robinson was accidentally killed by John after he injected him and he had an adverse reaction. He then tied his body up in chains and dumped him in the lake.
That same lake will be dredged and Nate’s body will be uncovered.
However, that’s not all John has to worry about as his ex-fiancé Aidan Moore – who he put in a coma – woke up and kept asking for John. The villain attempted to kill him, but changed his mind at the last minute. Aidan then had a cardiac arrest and fell back into his coma.

Oliver Farnworth appeared on This Morning to chat to soap expert Sharon Marshall about his character, and as they sat in the Woolpack Pub he shared: “He’s clearly troubled. There’s clearly something that’s happened at some point in his life and there’s been a kind of turning point.
“He’s got this hero complex, whereby he lives to save people. He wants to save people, but at some point he’s realised he can get adulation from his peers, and a kind of false sense of esteem comes out of that.”
He continued: “So, really, his MO is to get as much of that as possible because it’s addictive, in a way, and he kind of forgets the times that people may get hurt, people may end up worse for wear as well.”

Amongst the villain, however, Oliver assured viewers that John does love Aaron, as he admitted: “He absolutely adores Aaron, and I think he’s invested so much in this relationship, in his life at the village. And really, you think before that, he didn’t really have a family, he didn’t have, well, he had Aidan as his partner then something happened to him.
“I think he considers Aaron the absolute love of his life, and he will stop at nothing to get down that aisle and say ‘I do’.”
Emmerdale airs on weekdays at 7:30pm on ITV1 and is available to stream on ITVX.
