Coronation Street starĀ Adam HussainĀ has bid farewell to theĀ ITVĀ soap after five years.
The actorĀ announced the news on Instagram in April, so viewers have had quite a while to wait to see his final scenes asĀ Aadi Alahan.
āI guess the secrets out now! As some of you may have heard, I will be leaving Coronation Street for new pastures,ā he said at the time, alongside a series of photos from his time on the show.
He continued: āOver the 5 years Iāve spent there I have learned so much about the world and the industry and now feel I am ready to spread my wings a little. I have made friends that will last a lifetime and will surely miss such a special family!
āThis isnāt a farewell for Aadi however, more like a see you later!
āIām excited to see what the future brings! Thank you Coronation Street for giving me such a privilege of portraying this character for you. Until next time!ā
How did Aadi leave Coronation Street?
Aadi has found himself in hot water over the last few months, making a number of errors at the corner shop in dadĀ Dev Alahanās (Jimmi Harkishin) absence.

With Dev inĀ India, Aadi was hoping that he could prove himself to be a good businessman, but things didnāt go to plan. Heād ordered far too much stock, and knew he wouldnāt be able to sell it.
Determined to find a solution, heĀ staged a robbery, in the hope he could claim back any losses on the insurance.
However, when Dev found out about this, he was beyond furious, and things only got worse from there. He learnt that Aadi was responsible for hosting a party at their family home, which ended in disaster.
As viewers will recall,Ā Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey) brought LSD to the event, with Aadi confiscating it and deciding to share withĀ Summer SpellmanĀ (Harriet Bibby) andĀ Nina LucasĀ (Mollie Gallagher).
However, when Aadi left his share unattended,Ā Lauren BoltonĀ (Cait Fitton) picked it up by mistake and began to sufferĀ serious hallucinations of her abuser Joel DeeringĀ (Calum Lill).
Having placed great shame on the Alahan moniker, Dev decided that he should start afresh in India with his cousin Vikram Desai (Chris Bisson).

While initially against the idea, Aadi realised there was very little left for him in Weatherfield and went ahead with the plan.
What has Adam said about his exit?
In a video shared to Corrieās socials, Adam sat down in the Alahan living room to say his goodbyes and thank fans for their support.
āIĀ just want to say thank you so much to everyone for watching Aadi on Corrie over the years,ā he began.
āThese past five years have been so educational and such an experience. Iāve made friends that will last a lifetime, Iāve grown, but not just as an actor, but as a person as well.
āI just want to say, itās not a goodbye forever, more like a see you later.
āIf you want to keep watching me, Iāll be around in other stuff so keep your eyes peeled.ā
Adam Hussainās next project revealed
Adam has already filmed a new short film titled Spice For Life, which wasreleased onĀ YouTube this week.
The 12-minute drama sees Adam take on the role of a foster child struggling to connect with his care worker, played byĀ HollyoaksĀ actressĀ Kirsty-Leigh Porter, until the pair bond over a love of cooking.
The film was created by filmmaker Saleem Miah, and is based on his own experiences growing up in the foster care system.
Speaking to ITV News, Saleem explained: āI grew up in foster care myself, I moved about quite a lot. I grew up in Oldham, and I was placed with a lot of white families, which I think is quite like a unique, interesting upbringing.
āIāve always wanted to make a film about it. The story itās fictional, but a lot of the scenes in it I have kind of got from my own life, really.
āBut Iāve been really lucky in the sense that Iāve met people along the way that have supported me.ā
