Rebecca Breeds played Ruby Buckton from 2008 to 2012 and later starred in US shows. She also stated a return was planned, but scheduling conflicts stopped it from happening. “There was an opportunity years ago,” she said. She also revealed that there was a storyline where the River Boys went to England, and they wanted her to come back. But she was working on the show We Are Men at that time. So she couldn’t do it.

Breeds also mentioned that she missed the show but couldn’t participate because of the timing. Now she lives in Chicago with her husband, Luke Mitchell. He was also in Home and Away before. She said she would be open to returning if the chance comes. ‘I loved that show,’ she said.” “I never say never about things. Ruby’s story was full of struggles. She lost her mother and turned into an alcoholic. She wants her character to be turned around. And she wants to become a psychologist who helps troubled kids in Summer Bay. She said the show was based around wayward kids who found their way to Summer Bay. And they were fostered and counselled by the community. She thinks that’s what Ruby would do.

Rebecca said filming those tough storylines was very hard for her. She said fans want to see Ruby’s redemption. And also her journey to helping others and showing a stronger side of her character.
