Next week, Emmerdale fans will be treated to the sound of wedding bells as Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) and John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) prepare to say their vows.
However, in true soap opera fashion, the big day isn’t set to run smoothly for John, who fears his ex-lover Aidan Moore might ruin the ceremony.
On the day of John and Aaron’s nuptials, John is comforted by his half-sister Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins) as they get ready for the festivities.
Yet, John is haunted by nightmares of being arrested for Nate Robinson’s (Jurell Carter) murder, with the lake where he disposed of the body scheduled to be dredged that very day due to a slurry leak – ironically caused by John himself.
When Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) reveals that the dredging has commenced, a panicked John packs his bags to escape the village. He’s caught mid-flight by his fiancé Aaron, but manages to convince him it’s just pre-wedding nerves, reports Leicestershire Live.
Once Aaron departs, John drives off, taking refuge near the lake. He receives a heartfelt text from Aaron just as the workers stop and news reaches him that the lake dredging has been called off.
With this turn of events, John decides to proceed with the wedding, only for Aidan’s mum, Cathleen, to arrive with news that Aidan has awoken from his coma and is asking for him.
The rest of the week’s episodes see John plagued by nightmares, as he imagines the looming threat of Aidan disrupting his big day. Will John and Aaron manage to say ‘I do?’.
Actor Danny first graced Emmerdale as Aaron in 2008, but after a five-year stint, he left the soap to pursue other opportunities, including a regular role in the crime drama Scott and Bailey.
However, in 2014, he made the decision to return to Emmerdale, before taking another break seven years later. During this time, he joined the line-up on I’m A Celebrity and was crowned the winner.
In 2023, it was confirmed that Danny would once again reprise his role as Aaron. Away from the dramatic scenes of the Yorkshire Dales, actor Danny Miller enjoys a more tranquil family life.
In 2022, Danny tied the knot with his childhood sweetheart Steph Jones in a beautiful ceremony in Cheshire, surrounded by celebrity friends and family. The soap star had initially met the midwife at school, but they only started dating in 2019.
During a trip to St Lucia in 2021, which Steph had organised to celebrate Danny’s 30th birthday, he proposed. The couple got married a year later.
Just a month after the proposal, the couple discovered they were expecting their first child. At the time, they had been contemplating starting IVF treatment when Steph found out she was naturally pregnant.
Opening up about their unexpected pregnancy journey, she excitedly disclosed to OK!: “”It was a massive surprise because emotionally we’d been psyching ourselves up for IVF. It was meant to be. We got engaged at the beginning of January and found out we were expecting in February.”
Two years later and the couple joyfully expanded their brood with the addition of a baby girl. Danny marked this special chapter by sharing an adorable clip of their son Albert meeting his new sister, captioned with his voice in the background: “That’s your baby sister, Albert. You’re a big brother now.”
In the celebrity circuit, Danny isn’t the only one grabbing headlines; he comes from a lineage of stardom with his dad, Vince Miller, hailed as an entertainment titan.
Warmly referred to as the ‘king of comperes’, Vince carved his niche as the face of the VIP scene at Manchester United, interestingly enough through Danny’s unwavering support for arch-rivals Liverpool FC.
At 91, Vince can look back on a dazzling showbiz stint that lasted 65 years, during which he mingled with luminaries like Johnny Mathis and Shirley Bassey and even gave a heartfelt eulogy at comedian Bernard Manning’s funeral.
A defining juncture came when Vince decided to hang up his microphone. Speaking to the Manchester Evening News at 82, Vince declared: “I have no regrets about it. The time is now to retire while you’re on top. You don’t want people saying ‘not him again’.”
Danny may be a familiar face as Aaron Dingle in Emmerdale, but it appears he has also turned his hand to narrating audio books, a favourite of his son Albert.
Confirming the news, Danny took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share the news with his fans. Back in July 2023 he wrote: “Myself and @nigewingmanclucas are delighted to finally announce the release of ALBERTS BOOKSHELF! ! .”
He added: “Please watch the video as it explains the bigger picture behind releasing our very own audiobooks of some of Albert’s Favourite books read by his Dad.
“If you’re lucky enough to be a parent of a child who loves books as much as Albert, this may give you a chance to just sit or lie back with them and let their imagination run free.”
