Hold on to your pints, Coronation Street fans — the Rovers Return is about to explode with fresh drama, fiery confrontations, and an unforgettable comeback that could change the cobbles forever.
ITV has officially confirmed that Eva Price (played by fan favourite Catherine Tyldesley) is making a sensational return to Weatherfield this autumn — and she’s not coming quietly. After a six-year absence, Eva is back to take over the Rovers Return Inn as its brand-new landlady. But this time, she’s not alone.
Stepping behind the bar with Eva are two huge new additions: Shameless and Bohemian Rhapsody star Aaron McCusker as her charming new partner Ben Driscoll, and Irish comedy legend Pauline McLynn (a.k.a. Mrs Doyle from Father Ted) as his meddlesome mother Maggie. With their arrival, a new dynasty is born — and the drama will be anything but quiet.
The trio, known on set as the “Price-Driscoll Clan,” will officially be unveiled as the Rovers’ new owners in October, and insiders promise they’ll bring more than just fresh paint to the iconic pub. Expect fiery family tensions, simmering secrets, and raucous storylines as they settle into life in the heart of Weatherfield.
Eva’s return is not just about pulling pints. She’ll reunite with sisters Leanne and Toyah, reconnect with old flames, and face the ghosts of her past. And let’s not forget Suzie, Eva’s young daughter, who also returns — older, wiser, and set to become a mini-scene-stealer. Add in Ben’s two sons, and this blended family promises to stir up serious trouble — and maybe even a few romances.
Behind the scenes, Coronation Street boss Kate Brooks is thrilled. “We’re beyond excited to welcome Eva back as the new landlady of the Rovers, alongside her unforgettable family,” she teased. “The Driscolls do not arrive quietly. Expect big drama, explosive secrets, and raucous knees-ups galore.”
Sources close to the show also hinted at a bit of friendly soap rivalry. Following EastEnders’ successful move reinstating Kat and Alfie at the Queen Vic, Corrie was determined to up the ante — and bringing Catherine back, alongside Aaron and Pauline, is their bold response.
But not everything will be smooth behind the bar. While Ben may ooze Irish charm, insiders warn he’s not a man to be messed with. Under the surface of this “happy, loved-up” couple is a storm brewing — and Maggie’s interfering ways won’t help matters.
With the Rovers once again becoming the epicenter of Coronation Street’s drama, the new era looks nothing short of explosive.
Will Eva finally find peace in her new role — or will old secrets, meddling mothers, and buried betrayals tear this fresh start apart?
