When it rains, it pours – and for the Slater family in EastEnders, it’s getting down right torrential!
Zoe Slater’s (Michelle Ryan) re-emergence in Walford has had a similar effect to a nuclear bomb dropping on her family. When Alfie Moon (Shane Ritchie) decided to track her down, he had no idea of the carnage she’d bring with her.
After losing her from Stacey Slater’s (Lacey Turner) flat, he followed her to Barcelona, but returned empty handed, resulting in young Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall) being the one to finally bring Zoe home.
With a whole twenty years of baggage to carry with her, Zoe is hardly the fun, care-free spirit she previously was and she’s evidently incredibly damaged by the various traumas she’s endured, with more continuing to pile up.

With viewers now in the know about Zoe’s children, one of which she tragically lost and the other she left at the hospital to be adopted and her entanglement with the ever-dramatic Max Branning (Jake Wood), they’re fully aware of the chaos she is capable of wreaking.
Reuniting with her mum after years of no contact, Zoe was shot when Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) lost control of a gun in a scuffle with Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara).
Zoe was convinced the culprit was Greg Dolan (Dean Williamson), a shady private investigator she’d previously employed to help find her son.

Their arrangement came to a violent end when he tried to assault her, leading to her bashing his head with a lampshade. When she revealed to Stacey that she’s was worrying she’d killed him, Stacey determined to find out the truth.
Finding Greg very much alive, Stacey’s intervention did little but bring Greg to their door, leading to a tense hostage situation in the Vic.
Though Greg was eventually vanquished due to a combined effort by the Slater girls, Tommy, Jack and Ravi (who handily planted the gun that shot Zoe on him), things are still tense in the Slater household, and next week, things won’t get any easier.

With Zoe due to do battle with both Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) and Vicki Fowler (Alice Haig) before dropping yet-another-bombshell, Mo Harris (Laila Morse) finds herself in the drama.
An accident at the Albert results in her sacking. Just another one to add to the list of current Slater issues. In typical ‘Enders fashion, though, the drama doesn’t end there, when Stacey decides to leave the Square.
