Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews)’s run of bad luck in Coronation Street is set to continue as she suffers another romantic setback in an upcoming episode.
The popular character went through a difficult time in the show in the run-up to the departure of her stepdaughter, Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan). The two were at loggerheads and this culminated in Daisy drafting in her mother, Christina Boyd (Amy Robbins), to help her get revenge on Jenny.
Christina tried to scam Jenny using a catfish plan involving her own boyfriend, Dom, posing as someone who was interested in Jenny on a dating app. Daisy eventually pulled the plug on the scam, but Jenny was devastated to learn that Dom was part of the plan.
It came after Jenny had suffered two huge losses in her romantic life, first with the death of her husband Johnny Connor (Richard Hawley), who was killed in a freak accident in the sewer system.
Then her prospect of future happiness with Leo Thompkins (Joe Frost) was cruelly taken away when he was murdered by Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce).
More recently, Jenny has begun seeing another Street resident in a new light. George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley) has caught her interest after he fixed a plumbing problem for her. George is newly single after long-term partner Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver) left for Thailand, so it looked like Jenny finally had found a nice reliable man who wouldn’t scam her, get murdered or fall into a sewer.
But what he wasn’t immune to was Christina, who swooped back in the aftermath of Dom’s death to get George to arrange Dom’s funeral. Very quickly, she had her sights set on the funeral director himself, and Jenny found herself with a rival for George’s affections.

In upcoming episodes Jenny invites George for lunch but is disappointed when he says he needs to clean the funeral parlour. Undeterred, Jenny gets her mop and heads over, thinking she’ll help George out with his tasks.
