Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver) faces a huge shock in upcoming Coronation Street scenes during sister Julie Carp’s funeral.
Viewers will recall that Julie sadly took her own life last month amid her battle with stage four sarcoma.
Next week, she will finally be laid to rest, but her funeral is far from a drama-free event.
When Eileen gives Brian Packham (Peter Gunn) a letter from Julie, he is horrified to realise that her entire life insurance pay out had been left to Eileen.
Though she tried to argue that she had no idea that Julie had planned this until after her death, Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) couldn’t resist the opportunity to stick the knife in by suggesting that Eileen killed Julie to get her hands on the money.
Incensed that Julie’s funeral has been ruined, Eileen rails at George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley).
In an attempt to get things back on track, the mourners decide to play Julie’s dream game – but this only leads to more unrest.
George reveals to Eileen that his dream is to marry her, leaving her completely stunned!
In another twist, she is saved from responding by the sudden arrival of son Jason Grimshaw (Ryan Thomas), who has flown over from Thailand for Julie’s send off.
