TAYLOR SHERIDAN’S NON-WESTERN MASTERPIECES REVEALED!

While Taylor Sheridan is most widely known for his neo-western hit “Yellowstone” and its prequels (“1883,” “1923,” “Lawmen: Bass Reeves,” and upcoming series like “1944” and “6666”), he has also created and produced several successful TV shows that aren’t set in the American West.

Here are some of Taylor Sheridan’s notable non-western TV shows:

Mayor of Kingstown (2021-Present): This crime thriller, co-created with Hugh Dillon, stars Jeremy Renner as Mike McLusky, a power broker in a Michigan town where the business of incarceration is the only thriving industry. It explores themes of systemic racism, corruption, and inequality within the prison system.

Tulsa King (2022-Present): Co-created with Terence Winter, this crime drama stars Sylvester Stallone as a New York mafia capo who, after being released from prison, is exiled to Tulsa, Oklahoma, to establish a new criminal empire. While it has “King” in the title, it’s a mob drama, not a western.

Special Ops: Lioness (2023-Present): This espionage thriller follows a CIA operative (Zoe Saldaña) trying to balance her personal life with her work in counterterrorism. It’s a high-stakes military drama, a departure from Sheridan’s typical western themes.Yellowstone Didn't Revive The Western Genre On TV, It Killed It Completely

Landman (2024-Present): This drama, starring Billy Bob Thornton and Jon Hamm, is set in the boomtowns of West Texas and explores the cutthroat world of oil companies. While set in Texas, it focuses on the oil industry and crisis management, making it distinct from traditional western narratives.

The Last Cowboy (2019-Present): This is a non-fiction reality series that delves into the world of horse reining, a western performance equestrian sport. While it features cowboys and horses, it’s a documentary-style competition show about a specific sport rather than a narrative drama.Yellowstone' Actor Gil Birmingham Reacts to Full-Circle Finale and Where Taylor Sheridan Could Go Next

These shows demonstrate Sheridan’s versatility beyond the “Yellowstone” universe, tackling different genres and settings while often retaining his signature gritty, character-driven storytelling.
