rom the moment that Yellowstone made its way onto our screens, it quickly became clear that the Western show which details the Dutton’s fight for preserving their land, family legacy and dynastic dysfunction, had grown into something much bigger.

Now an entire Yellowstone universe has been created, thanks to the show’s director and creator, Taylor Sheridan. The series’ prequels 1883 and 1923 have already become fan-favourites, thanks Sheridan’s keen eye for sweeping vistas, cowboy grit, and tear-jerker romances.

Now, the next chapters, will not only continue the prequel sequence, but also look beyond the present day Duttons.

The Dutton Ranch, which is a direct spinoff from Yellowstone’s original series is set to feature the four-time Oscar nominee Annette Bening, who will play Beulah Jackson, a seasoned and powerful ranch owner. Bening’s character is set to challenge and unsettle the formidable Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) and Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser), who will star alongside Bening as the series’ lead characters. As well as this, Fin Little is set to reprise his role as the couple’s adoptive son, Carter, who accompanies his parents on a 7,000-acre Texas ranch.

The logline for the series, as stated by Deadline, is as follows: ‘The Dutton Ranch, home to Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler, is a testament to the peace they sought, fought for, and nearly died for, as they’ve come to cherish their 7,000-acre ranch.’

‘With tough times and stiff competition, Beth and Rip do what they must to survive, all while ensuring Carter becomes the man he’s supposed to be.’

Meanwhile, Y: Marshals, another new spinoff, brings back Luke Grimes as Kayce Dutton in a federal law enforcement setting, although Monica (Kelsey Asbille) return has not yet been confirmed.
