Zeeko Zaki Discusses a Critical Element of FBI Before Returning as OA

FBI‘s Zeeko Zaki has revealed a unique way he prepares for his role as OA series. FBI season 7 ended with a surprising cliffhanger that left the status of one character uncertain for FBI season 8. However, as risky as FBI season 7 was for its characters, Zeeko Zaki will be returning as OA and his recent post shows his dedication.

In a video released on X by @WolfEnt, Zeeko Zaki shared how he prepares for his role as OA physically by training as if he really is “chasing these bad guys.” He states that his job on FBI is very physically demanding, and while it is fiction, it demands a lot of effort. Read his full statement below:

The way I prepare for a new season or episode is physically. Our job is very athletic. We film outside, we film for a very very long time, 10 months, so you just have to make sure that you can physically do it. So just get in the gym and pretend that you are actually solving these crimes and chasing these bad guys. And that’s the way you do it.

What Zeeko Zaki’s Regime Means

OA Will Still Be A Major Character In FBI Season 8

Zeeko Zaki’s FBI update confirms that OA will still be a highly valued and important member of the FBI team in season 8. The FBI season 7 finale showed that major characters are not necessarily permanent fixtures on the team. Characters can come and go, and there is always present danger, so Zaki’s commitment to training is a good sign.

Zaki’s statement that training is a major part of being an active FBI cast member is also great news following Tiffany’s exit in FBI season 7. The FBI cast has had to say goodbye to major characters before, which makes Zaki’s statement even better, since it seems unlikely he will depart in season 8.

The implication that Zeeko Zaki’s OA will continue to stay on the FBI team is also perfect for OA and Maggie’s FBI relationship. The pair continues to tease their will-they-won’t-they relationship while they also deepen their bond with every season. With OA set to stay, Maggie and OA could continue to grow their relationship in season 8.

Our Take On Zeeko Zaki’s Regime

Zaki Takes His Role Seriously

Zaki’s physical preparation for FBI is great as it shows how seriously he takes the role eight seasons in. Dick Wolf’s shows have always been taken seriously as projects, and Zaki’s dedication to staying true to his character outside of work also speaks to that level of respect. The shows may feature fictional stories, but the physical requirements are very real.

Zaki’s regime is also a great sign for FBI season 8. OA has been such an important character since the show’s pilot episode that it is almost impossible to imagine the series without him. With there already being several FBI character exits, the news that OA is staying means that the team can remain grounded even with some departures.
