Belle is left questioning the future of her marriage.

EmmerdaleΒ spoilers follow.

Tom King has lied to his wife Belle followingΒ a fire in their homeΒ inΒ Emmerdale.

Thursday’s (June 13) episode on ITV1 andΒ streaming service ITVXΒ foundΒ Belle having to fight off a blazeΒ in her kitchen to save herself and Piper the Dog in dramatic scenes.

The dangerous situation occurred after Belle realised she’d been locked in at Dale Head. Belle got tired and decided to take a nap, thus forgetting she’d put food in the oven.

A teatowel soon caught fire, causing smoke and flames to engulf the kitchen. Belle suddenly was thrust into a dangerous situation since she couldn’t escape the house.

She was eventually able to put out the fire, shortly before a concerned Tom arrived home.

Tom was forced to think on his feet when Belle accused him of being a β€œcontrol freak” and purposefully locking her in the house. The villain initially pretended he was hurt by the accusation, then set about trying to trick his wife.

Tom placed Belle’s house keys in the cupboard to make her think she’d misplaced them all along.

Once Belle found her house keys, Tom made her feel guilty for blaming him. She promised she’d trust him if there was ever another similar situation, but Tom snapped back: β€œI’ll believe it when I see it!”

The episode finished with Belle all alone, searching online for the nearest abortion clinic.

Belle has been uncertain all along about her pregnancy but especially felt trapped earlier this week when Tom started telling everyone the news much too early.
